Why a gas generator instead of cylinders?

A generator makes the gas in the lab, at low pressure and on demand — instead of high-pressure cylinders to swap, order and store. The five differences that decide:

Safety

A compressed cylinder holds hundreds of bar inside the lab; a generator keeps a small internal volume (under 50 ml in hydrogen units) at low pressure, with automatic shutdown on a leak. In IVF labs and clean rooms this is often a threshold requirement.

Continuity

An analysis that stops mid-run because a cylinder emptied is a lost run and a recalibration. A generator supplies 24/7 on demand — critical for GC/LC-MS running continuously and for chip production lines that need supply certainty.

Consistent purity

Every cylinder arrives with variance; a generator produces the same purity every day (up to 99.99999% for hydrogen), with no supply-chain contamination.

Cost

Cylinders are a running cost that only grows: gas, rental, deliveries, handling time. A generator is a one-time investment with annual maintenance — the calculator below runs the numbers on YOUR costs.

Space & logistics

No cylinder stock, no swaps, no long gas lines — the generator sits on or under the bench, next to the instrument.

For chromatography labs (GC/LC-MS), IVF and cell-culture labs, and industry that needs continuous supply — from chip startups to food packaging.
